ScoutVenture 2018

11th to 13th May 2018

Rough Close Scout Campsite

ScoutVenture 2018 is an exciting camp for young people of the Scout section in Coventry Scouting. It will be a fun filled weekend with lots of activities and a great opportunity for the Scouts of Coventry to come together.

How Much?

Scouts: £40 before 16th February and £45 thereafter. Leaders £15. The price includes all the activities and fully catered. In order to get the early bird discount the troop must be registered on to the booking system as well as the Scouts attending. The discount will then be applied to those Scouts that have been registered and any registered after that date will be charged the £45.

How to Book?

Click the button to the left that says "Book Now" and it will take you to our booking system. The booking system works so that the Scout leader from each group can register their group and then they can input their young people's names and their parents email adresses. Once this information has been inputed the parent will recieve an email with a link and instructions on how to fill in their young person's information. This will make the process more streamlined and on the Scout Leaders login they will be able to see how many health forms have been submitted and which young people are still without that information.

Anything Else?

Check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) below for more info. If you have a question that hasn't been answered there, then please get in touch at sv@coventryscouts.org.uk.

Where can I camp?

Your camping allocation will be dependant on the amount of people attending within your group. You will be allocated a plot a few weeks prior to the event. We will then be asking that tents are put up in the week prior to the event. More information will be distributed nearer to the event.
What activities will there be on offer for the young people?
Ninja assault course, ice climbing wall and spider mountain are just some of the activites we have confirmed so far. More activities will be announce which fit in to the four zones: Adventure, Science, Scouting Skills and Water.
Does my group have to go fully catered with the event?

Yes. This event only has a fully catered option. If for any reason this is an issue for certain individuals then please do get in touch.

Will my young people get to go on all the activities?

They will have plenty of time during the weekend to experience the activities. We will have plenty of staff within the zones ensuring ques do not build up and young people get a fair chance to go an as many actiivties as possible.

What if a young person from my troop decides to come to ScoutVenture after the 16th February, do they still get the discount?

No. Even if you have registered your group and Scouts before the 16th February. Any additional Scouts added on to the system after 16th February will be charged £45.

How and when do I have to pay for the event?

Approximately 6 weeks before the event you will receive an invoice. This will contain information about the options in which you can pay for the event.

What does the leader fee include?

The leader price includes exactly the same as the young person's fee. It includes camping, all food and there will be opportunities to take part in the activties. However on busy activites priority will be given to the young people. There will also be a designated leader chill out zone for the duration of the weekend.

What if one of my Scout's parents/guardians do not have access to email?

When registering your young people on the booking system it will ask for an email address to be associated with that young person. If that young person's parents/guardians do not have access to email then please put your own email for that young person.

Who receives the invoice?

The Scout leader who administrates the booking will receive the booking. This means that payments to the event will be made as a lump sum from your troop/group. Invoices will be sent out towards the end of March 2018.

As a leader do I still need to submit a NAN form?

Yes, you will still need to complete a NAN form for the event with a leader who has a valid nights away permit. If nobody within your group has a nights away permit or they are unavailble for the weekend, then get in touch with groupd local to you to see if they can support you with this.
