FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES - INTERNATIONAL SERVICE TEAM
As with other Jamborees there will be an opportunity for those members over 18years to become part of the International Service Team (IST). This selection process will commence in the Autumn of 2009.
All information will be available soon.
FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES - COUNTY EXPEDITION.
As this Jamboree is being held in Europe it gives the County an another opportunity to offer further International experiences to more of our members by holding a County Expedition to Sweden over the same period of time. This will give more of our young people to explore Sweden and take part in activities, and have day visits to the Jamboree.
It will also provide an opportunity to hold a prestigious Explorer Belt expedition, whilst being members of the County Group.
COUNTY TEAMS.
The County Commissioner has appointed two leaders to lead the Coventry 2011 Jamboree Contingent. They are Sarah Miller and Samantha Rowe, and congratulations go to both!
Contact has already been made with the GirlGuiding UK unit and the leader of the British Groups Abroad Unit who will make up the complete contingent.
Applications to join the team are now closed and selection has started from the applications to join our leaders for Sweden 2011. From the list of applicants we will select the contingent team and a reserve list.
There is much work to do before 2011, selection and training of the contingent to ensure that they are a complete team capable of living and working together for three weeks in a foreign country.
In order to support this team we are looking to appoint a ‘Contingent Manager’ who will support the leader team in the pre-jamboree logistics, finance and general administration. This will allow the leader team to concentrate on training the young people and creating the team.Anyone interested in managing this exciting project please contact Dave Hart or Ian Coates.
HOME TEAMS
Projects of this sort cannot be undertaken without a good support structure. It is envisaged that a County Support Team will take on administrative, logistic duties in support of each of the elements of expedition. It will also be responsible for selection and help with the fundraising.
