How Can you Promote Scouting to your Local Community?

Most people in your community will have heard of Scouts. So they know who we are, but do they know where we are and what we stand for.

Do members of your community know where you meet?

With a little effort you can help promote your Group and Scouting with a little effort.

The County produced a set of posters for each group, these can be put into schools, libraries, churches etc.

Old copies of Scouting Magazine can be put with other reading matter in Doctors and Dentists waiting rooms For more posters contact Chris. Sherlock.

Your local Community Support officers come into contact with young people every day try to gain their support in promoting your group.

Gain more knowledge on the subject by attending training module 13 or Module 21 'Growing the Movement'

As part of our continuing strategy to get as much external positive on brand coverage as possible for Coventry Scout County, I have managed to secure the county 3 sections per week (every Saturday) in the Evening Telegraphs Community Focus area.  This has been divided in to 150 words per district and I would like to try and fill this every week as we all know how much we do for the young people every week. Can you all forward this on to as many people as you know and if they have a story, upcoming activity, fundraising activity etc that they think will be great news then let me know. If we don't use it we lose it so we need to be proactive and Shout about Scouting as much as possible.

From the smallest beaver Colony to the Leader training team, they all have stories to tell and just waiting to be unleashed. If you have a story then email it me and I will try and get it published. Any Questions don't hesitate to ask. Simon Daley
