News Box

A great news item from Rosemarie Evans

Coventry Scouting Skills Weekend. 2nd - 3rd October 2010

This is a great opportunity for all leaders and group helpers to learn new skills, develop old skills, meet other leaders and above all have some fun!
The weekend offers a variety of skills bases and workshops for all areas of the balanced programme such as whittling and sharp tool work, fire lighting, crafts, rope making, shelter building, knots and a lot more. All the activities are developed to deliver a progressive learning programme within the sections. It also offers a huge variety of programme ideas and information on where to source free programme resources.
As well as the skills and programme activities the Leader Training Team are also on hand to offer additional training, validate modules or just to chat about training whether you are working towards your Wood badge or for ongoing learning. The weekend covers the learning aspect of module 18 learning new skills and also counts towards your ongoing learning hours.
This is a very popular training event within the county and all of those who have participated in previous years have all said that they had learnt new skills, made new friends and above all had a lot of fun!

Booking forms are available from the woodbeads café or contact Rosemarie Evans by email at: iwohwoh@aol.com.

Please note that at the moment this event has limited numbers so if you would like to come along to this event then get your booking form in quickly.
